Accepting Nominations: Chanchlani Global Health Research Award
The Chanchlani Research Centre is proud to announce the call for nominations for the prestigious Chanchlani Global Health Research Award for 2024. Established in 2012 by the Chanchlani family in collaboration with McMaster University, this annual award recognizes an exceptional scientist whose research significantly contributes to global health initiatives.
About the Award:
Each year, the Chanchlani Global Health Research Award honors a distinguished individual whose groundbreaking research advances the field of global health, glocal health and health equity. This esteemed accolade underscores the importance of innovative research in addressing pressing health challenges worldwide.
Eligibility Criteria:
Nominees for the Chanchlani Global Health Research Award should demonstrate outstanding achievements in the field of global health, glocal health and health equity. Eligible candidates may include:
- Researchers: Scientists, academics and scholars whose research contributes to advancements in global health outcomes.
- Advocates: Individuals who actively promote policies, programs and initiatives aimed at improving health equity and access to healthcare services worldwide.
- Activists: Changemakers who engage in grassroots efforts, community organizing and advocacy campaigns to address health disparities and social determinants of health.
- Practitioners: Healthcare professionals and clinicians who demonstrate exemplary leadership and innovation in delivering healthcare services in resource-limited settings.
- Policy Influencers: Policymakers and government officials who champion evidence-based policies and interventions to address global health challenges.
Nomination Process:
We invite nominations from the global health community, including from faculty members, researchers and practitioners. Self-nominations are also welcome. To nominate a candidate, please submit a comprehensive nomination package that includes:
- The nominee’s curriculum vitae
- A statement outlining their contributions to global health research
- A statement explaining why they should be considered for this award
- Two supporting nomination letters
Selection Process:
The recipient of the Chanchlani Global Health Research Award will be chosen by a review committee in collaboration with McMaster University’s Global Health Program. The selection process will be guided by the nominee’s research excellence, impact on global health outcomes and potential for future contributions to the field.
Submission Deadline:
All nominations must be received by June 14, 2024. Late submissions will not be considered.
