Dr. Camara Phyllis Jones, senior fellow, Satcher Health Leadership Institute and Cardiovascular Research Institute, presents Tools for Achieving Health Equity: Allegories on Race and Racism. Dr. Jones’ talk explores the ways in which racism contributes to health disparities. In her work, she examines the impacts of racism on the health and well-being of the nation. She seeks to broaden the national health debate so that it includes not only universal access to high quality health care but also attention to the social determinants of health, including poverty and the social determinants of equity, including racism.
